Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT teaches individuals to accept difficult emotions, defuse from unhelpful thoughts, and commit to value-based actions. Rather than trying to eliminate distress, ACT focuses on psychological flexibility—helping people live meaningful lives while experiencing the full range of human emotions without avoidance or resistance.

Read more about ACT here.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps clients recognize and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. It’s goal-oriented and structured, focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. By identifying cognitive distortions and replacing them with realistic thinking, individuals can manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges more effectively.

Person-centred therapy

Person-centred therapy emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuine therapist-client relationships. Developed by Carl Rogers, it supports clients in exploring their experiences at their own pace. This non-directive approach empowers individuals to access their own strengths and solutions in a safe, accepting environment.

Play- and art-based counselling

Play and art-based therapies use creative expression—like drawing, painting, or storytelling—to help individuals, especially children, process emotions and experiences. These therapies bypass verbal limitations and tap into the subconscious, making them effective for trauma, anxiety, and developmental challenges through symbolic and imaginative engagement.

Play-Based Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Play-based DBT adapts DBT for children using games, stories, and creative play. It teaches emotional regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills in a child-friendly format. This approach helps young clients express feelings, build coping tools, and develop healthy relationships through interactive and developmentally appropriate methods.
