Parenting Support
Parenting Support at Willow and Sage Counselling
Parenting brings both joy and complexity, and it is common to feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or stuck at times. At Willow and Sage Counselling, we provide compassionate, evidence-informed support to help parents navigate challenges, strengthen relationships with their children, and feel more grounded in their parenting approach.
What to Expect
Family counselling typically begins with one or both parents attending an initial intake session to explore the concerns, family dynamics, and parenting goals. Sessions are collaborative and may focus on communication, regulation strategies, behaviour concerns, or supporting neurodivergent children.
We meet you where you are—whether you are in the early stages of parenting, navigating the tween years, or managing behavioural concerns that impact the whole family system.
Areas of Focus
Parenting-focused counselling may include support with:
- Building consistency, structure, and connection at home
- Co-regulation and emotion coaching
- Guidance through major transitions (e.g., school changes, separation, medical diagnoses)
- Managing parental stress, burnout, and guilt
- Navigating co-parenting or blended family challenges
- Parent-child relationship difficulties
- Repairing ruptures and increasing trust in the parent-child relationship
- Supporting children with ADHD, ASD, or learning differences
- Understanding and responding to challenging behaviours
We believe that parenting support is not about perfection—it is about building insight, increasing confidence, and reconnecting with your child and your values as a caregiver.
